Is there an age restriction?
Yes. Lifelong Learners are 55+.

Do I get credit?
No. These are non-credit courses. Learners take courses for the pure pleasure of learning.

Are there tests and grades?
No. The only motivation is love of learning.

What about parking?
All individuals using Washington University parking facilities must have vehicle permits. LLI has contracted with Parking & Transportation Services to sell parking permits to its members. The permits are to be used in the West Campus Parking Garage only. The annual payment is $40 and is valid for July 1, 2009—June 30, 2010. Click here for a map.

How many courses may I take a term?
Most learners take one or two, but some take as many as 5 courses in a term. It is up to you.

What is the tuition?
Winter Term tuition for an eight-week course is $120.00. Additional eight-week courses are $65.00 each. Winter Term tuition for one 4-week course is $65.00.

Are Scholarships available?
We want our institute to be accessible to those who wish to participate. If you need financial help, please speak to Katie Compton in the LLI office. All requests are kept confidential.

Can I get a refund?
A student who wishes to withdraw from the LLI must do so in writing by the end of the first week of term. Failure to attend a study group is not equivalent to withdrawing.
